xCloud Alternative: xCloud Hosting Pricing and Competitors Compared

The short answer

xCloud is free for 1 server and 10 sites, then charges $5 per server a month for 2 to 5 servers, $4 for 6 to 10 and $3 from 11 up, so 3 servers cost $15 and 50 cost $150. It is the cheapest panel at one server. From about five servers, flat-fee panels are cheaper: ServerAvatar is $12 for 5 and $29 for 25, RunCloud and Laravel Forge are $19 for large fleets, and Ploi is $10 to $36. Teams that deploy application code usually switch for deploy safety rather than price: xCloud documents deploy-on-push but not atomic releases or rollback, which DeployManage includes from $15 a month for 3 servers.

Skip the manual setup. DeployManage provisions your server and ships zero-downtime deploys on any cloud.

Get started

xCloud has one of the more generous entry offers in the server panel market: connect your own server and the first one, with up to ten sites, costs nothing. Past that it charges per server, and it also sells fully managed hosting plans from $5 a month if you would rather not rent the machine yourself. That two-sided model is why people land on xCloud, and it is also why they start comparing an xCloud alternative a few months later. The per-server fee grows in a straight line with the fleet, the product is shaped around WordPress, and the git deployment flow is documented as build-and-deploy on push without the release history and rollback that app teams expect.

This guide prices xCloud at real fleet sizes against the panels people usually weigh it against, points out where it is honestly the better deal, and shows which alternative fits which kind of team. Every price comes from the vendor's own pricing page.

How much does xCloud cost?

xCloud's bring-your-own-server panel is free for 1 server and 10 sites, then $5 per server a month for 2 to 5 servers, $4 per server for 6 to 10 and $3 per server from 11 servers up. The rate applies to every connected server at that tier, so xCloud's own examples work out to $15 a month for 3 servers and $36 for 12. Paid plans come with a 14-day money-back guarantee, and your cloud provider bills the servers separately.

xCloud self-managed (bring your own server)PriceServers
Free$01 server, 10 sites
Starter$5 per server a month2 to 5
Professional$4 per server a month6 to 10
Agency$3 per server a month11 and up

The managed side is a different product. xCloud rents you the server as well, from the $5 Newcomer plan (1 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 25 GB SSD) and the $12 Basic plan (2 GB, 1 vCPU) up to $399 for 64 GB and 16 vCPU, with unlimited sites, backups, staging and free migration on every plan. Add-ons are priced separately: a Cloudflare Enterprise CDN at $5 per domain a month, mailboxes at $1 per 8 GB, outbound mail delivery from $3 a month for 3,000 emails, and Site Security PRO at $2 per site a month.

If you are comparing xCloud hosting with a panel on your own server, keep the two apart. A managed xCloud plan is closer to Cloudways than to a control panel, and it belongs in a different budget line.

Is xCloud free?

Only for one server with up to ten sites. That tier is real and useful for a personal project or a freelancer's first client box. The second server moves the whole account onto the $5 per server rate, so two servers cost $10 a month and the free server is no longer free. For comparison, Ploi's free plan allows one server but only one site and five deploys a month, and DeployManage has no free plan: every account gets a one-time demo (1 server, 1 site, 1 deploy, no card) and Starter is $15 a month for 3 servers.

xCloud pricing against its competitors at real fleet sizes

The panel fee is the only part of the bill that differs between these tools, because the server itself costs the same whichever panel you point at it. Here is the monthly panel fee at six fleet sizes.

Panel (monthly fee)1 server35102550
xCloud$0$15$25$40$75$150
ServerAvatar$12$12$12$29$29$49
RunCloud$9$19$19$19$19$19
Ploi$0 (1 site) or $10$10$10$16$36$36
SpinupWP Essentials$12$28$38$59$114$179
Laravel Forge$12$19$19$19$19$19
DeployManage$15$15$39$39$99$99

Sources: ServerAvatar Newbie $12 (5 servers), Pro $29 (25), Master $49 (50); RunCloud Essentials $9 (1 server) and Professional $19 (up to 50); Ploi Basic $10 (5), Pro $16 (10), Unlimited $36; SpinupWP Essentials $12 plus its graduated price for each extra server; Forge Hobby $12 (one external server) and Growth $19 (unlimited); DeployManage Starter $15 (3), Growth $39 (10), Business $99 (unlimited).

Three things stand out. xCloud is the cheapest option at one server and competitive at three. From about five servers, flat-fee panels overtake it, and by 25 servers xCloud costs $75 against $19 for RunCloud or Forge. And DeployManage is not the cheapest line at any size. If panel fee is the only thing you are optimizing, Ploi is the cheapest paid panel from 3 to 10 servers, and RunCloud Professional or Forge Growth from 11 to 50. The rest of this guide is about the cases where the cheapest fee is not the cheapest outcome.

Why teams look for an xCloud alternative

The fee scales with every server

Per-server pricing is fair for a small fleet and painful for a growing one. An agency adding a server per client pays $3 to $5 more for each one, forever. At 50 servers that is $150 a month for the panel alone, when a flat-fee panel would be $19 to $99. If your fleet is growing, run the table above against your own two-year plan rather than today's server count.

WordPress first, apps second

xCloud's product pages, stack choices (Nginx or OpenLiteSpeed, MySQL or MariaDB) and add-ons are built around WordPress, and it does that job well. Its git deployment flow does handle Laravel, custom PHP and Node.js projects, including an auto-deploy webhook and a generated build script that runs Composer, migrations and config caching. Its documentation lists Python, Ruby, Go and Rust as not currently supported by that flow.

Deploy safety for production apps

This is the reason app teams switch. xCloud's git deployment and Laravel deployment guides describe connecting a repository, a build and deploy script and deploy-on-push, but neither describes atomic release directories or rolling back to a previous deployment. For a brochure site that is fine. For a SaaS app where a failed migration takes checkout down, you want the new release built beside the live one, health-checked, and swapped in only when it passes, with the last few releases kept on disk so rollback is one click. That is how Laravel Forge and its alternatives handle deploys, and it is the core of how DeployManage works.

xCloud vs ServerAvatar

These two are the closest match: both are WordPress-leaning panels for your own server, both support Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Vultr and AWS, and both include white-label features. ServerAvatar charges by fleet band instead of per server, so at 5 servers it costs $12 against xCloud's $25, and at 25 servers $29 against $75. xCloud wins on the free first server and on its managed hosting option. Our ServerAvatar alternative guide covers where ServerAvatar itself falls short.

xCloud vs RunCloud

RunCloud is the flat-fee answer to xCloud's per-server model: $19 a month covers up to 50 servers on Professional. It is also WordPress-strong. The catch is that RunCloud's atomic deployment sits on the $49 Business plan, so the cheap tier does not buy the deploy safety discussed above. The RunCloud alternative and pricing page has the full tier table.

xCloud vs Ploi

Ploi is the cheapest paid panel in this group up to ten servers ($10 for 5, $16 for 10) and includes zero-downtime deploys. It supports a broad provider list and suits small teams deploying PHP apps. Past ten servers it becomes $36 for unlimited, still well below xCloud's $75 at 25 servers. See our Ploi alternative page for Ploi's plans and limits.

xCloud vs DeployManage

DeployManage is a deployment panel first. It provisions servers on Hetzner, DigitalOcean, AWS, Vultr, Linode, OVHcloud or any Ubuntu VPS, installs Nginx, PHP, MySQL or PostgreSQL, Redis, Supervisor and Node.js, and ships every git push as an atomic release with a health check and one-click rollback. It also manages queue workers, scheduled jobs, firewall rules, SSL and mailboxes per domain, and keeps one activity log across the whole fleet. It costs more than xCloud at most fleet sizes. It is cheaper at exactly 10 servers ($39 against $40) and from 34 servers up, where xCloud reaches $102 and DeployManage stays at $99 (at 50 servers, $150 against $99). Choose xCloud if you want a free first server or a managed WordPress plan; choose DeployManage if you ship application code and want every deploy to be reversible. The full plan list is on the pricing page.

How to switch from xCloud without downtime

Because xCloud's self-managed mode runs on a server you own, you can often keep the same machine. The safer route is still a fresh server, since two panels configuring the same Nginx is a recipe for surprises.

  1. Provision a new server in the same provider account, with the same PHP version and database engine. If you are on Hetzner, check the location first: Hetzner's June 2026 price change made its US servers roughly three times dearer than its German ones.
  2. Deploy the same commit from the same repository and copy the environment variables. Let the new panel build the release and run migrations against an empty database.
  3. Import the data: a database dump plus the uploads directory. For WordPress, copy wp-content and the database, then search-replace the URLs if the domain changes.
  4. Lower the DNS TTL a day ahead, put the old site in maintenance mode for the final data sync, switch the A record, and keep the old server for a week.

For client stores and SaaS apps with real customers, watch the first few days closely. Uptime checks catch a dead server, but they miss a checkout that fails for one payment method. Customers often complain in public before they email support, so tracking mentions of the client's brand online for a week after the cutover is a cheap way to hear about a broken flow early.

Frequently asked questions

How much does xCloud cost?

xCloud's bring-your-own-server panel is free for 1 server and 10 sites, then $5 per server a month for 2 to 5 servers, $4 for 6 to 10 and $3 for 11 or more. Managed xCloud hosting, which includes the server, runs from $5 to $399 a month.

Is xCloud free?

Only for one server with up to ten sites. Adding a second server moves the account to $5 per server, so two servers cost $10 a month.

What is the best xCloud alternative?

For cheap WordPress fleets, ServerAvatar or RunCloud. For small PHP app fleets, Ploi. For Laravel-only teams, Laravel Forge. For app teams that need atomic deploys, rollback and mailboxes across several clouds, DeployManage.

Is xCloud cheaper than RunCloud?

At one server, yes: xCloud is free and RunCloud Essentials is $9. From 4 servers up, RunCloud Professional at $19 for up to 50 servers is cheaper than xCloud's per-server fee.

Does xCloud support Laravel?

Yes. xCloud's git deployment flow handles Laravel, custom PHP and Node.js projects with an auto-deploy webhook and a generated build script. Its documentation does not describe atomic release directories or rollback to a previous deployment.

Does xCloud work with Hetzner?

Yes. xCloud connects servers from DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS and Hetzner, plus other providers over SSH.

Can I move sites from xCloud to another panel without downtime?

Yes. Provision a new server, deploy the same commit, import the database and uploads, then switch DNS after lowering the TTL a day ahead. Keep the old server for a week so rollback is a DNS change.

How much does DeployManage cost compared with xCloud?

DeployManage is $15 a month for up to 3 servers, $39 for 10 and $99 for unlimited. That is more than xCloud at most fleet sizes, and less at exactly 10 servers ($39 against $40) and from 34 servers up ($99 against $150 at 50).
